Why I hate my PC at this moment in time.

Tue Apr 17, 2007, 3:42 PM
:¬(

Piece of f****** s***!!!

The cause: My mp3 library is creaking at the seams on its partition so I got a external LaCie firewire 250Gb. Except it didn't come with a power supply and the LaCie site only takes credit cards (I refuse to own one).
The local stockist are waiting for a delivery of aforementioned power supplies so I can't transfer the library until I get one.

The situation: This morning I was using Photoshop to add a frame to a render for uploading whilst listening to some tunes. The PC gets confused and doesn't know whether to focus on playing the mp3 or saving the jpeg and crashes in spectacular fashion whilst making glitch remixes of my music collection.

The tedious nightmare: When I boot the PC I get a chkdsk master file table error on the partition and there's not enough space to rewrite it. Bas****!!!!!!

I hope to work some magic once I've found the original boot disc. It's is the spare room. Somewhere. :¬/

I dump my mp3's onto DVD's - 1 or 2000 at a time - sure frees up space!

Does not your PC really have enough harddrive space? If so, make it then run CHKDSK C: /r

A living thing seeks above all to discharge its strength — life itself is will to power; self-preservation is only one of the indirect and most frequent results.

I managed to repair the drive to an extent where I could rescue the files from it, the drive is now in my Mac instead of the PC and my music collection is now on an external drive, also connected to my Mac. I've basically stripped down the PC the the bare minimum and only use it for things that I can't do on my Mac, Apophysis for example because I really don't trust it anymore. :¬;)

...far from the multitudes,
a few will always stand.
they don't fit in,
they don't belong.
move on,
move on,
this way...
